On the move: Manchester United want to land James Rodriguez
Manchester United have asked Porto if they’d consider swapping James Rodriguez for Red Devils winger Luis Nani during the summer transfer window.
Colombian winger Rodriguez is one of the finest prospects in Europe, and United are hopeful of trying to get a foothold in a possible deal before the end of the season.
And according to reports in Portugal, Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken to senior Porto officials regarding a possible swap deal that would see 20-year-old Rodriguez move to Old Trafford with out-of-favour Nani going in the opposite direction.
Flying away: Nani could be on his way out of United
Nani is understood to be on the fringes at United after becoming furious at not being offered a bumper contract extension, and could now be moved on in July as part of a squad reshuffle.
Patrice Evra, Kiko Macheda and Bebe could all be moved on, while Rodriguez would join Wilfried Zaha as part of a refreshed lineup.
Porto have previously resisted all attempts to sell Rodriguez, having reportedly snubbed a £20million offer from AC Milan last summer.
