LIVERPOOL have turned up the heat in their bid to sign Philippe Coutinho.
The Kop’s first £8million offer for the Inter Milan midfielder was rejected.
Now the Merseysiders have restructured the deal to include £6m up front and the rest in stages — the original down payment would have been far lower.
Italian reports suggested Southampton were set to splash £10m on the 20-year-old Brazilian.
Saints have already gazumped Liverpool once this window — beating them to Molde’s Vegard Forren — but they are yet to table a bid for Coutinho.
