Beckham on trial at Chelsea (But it’s Brooklyn not his dad)

DAVID Beckham's 14-year-old son Brooklyn has had a trial for Chelsea.

England legend Becks went to see his eldest son turn out for the Champions Leagues winners' academy team, according to onlookers at the Blues' state of the art training ground.

The ex-Manchester United star was even pictured with a Chelsea academy player in the snow at Cobham on Tuesday.

This sparked speculation the former England midfielder - who is without a club - could make a spectacular return to the Premier League with Roman Abramovich's west London giants.

But it then emerged he was there to watch his son in the youth match so he gain valuable experience of English football at junior level.

Shocked parents at the match were stunned to superstar Becks cheering on his 13-year-old son from the sidelines.

One onlooker called Sid Celery on Twitter said: "Ok, so I've just picked up that the reason David Beckham was at Cobham today was that son Brooklyn is being trialled for CFC U14s #Phew."

Another supporter posted: "David Beckham's son Brooklyn is on trial for my team #chelseafc David Beckham was watching our training session tonight!! Madness".

It was not Brooklyn's first outing with a professional team’s youth side having played for the under-14s at his dad's former US club LA Galaxy in California.

Beckham has spoken in the past about the difficulties his sons may face if they take up football.

He said: "'They've got a great life set up for them.

"Obviously our boys and little girl are very lucky.

"But I think, as a parent, you always worry: "Have they got the hunger that I had as a kid?""

He added: "I'm as hard on my boys as my dad was. They always ask, "Did I play well?" I'll say, "You did alright, could have done better..."'

The Beckhams are in London after moving back to the UK following the end of his contract with Galaxy.

The family are currently renting a lavish £20million property in London.

The Beckham children all seem to be following in their father's footsteps with Romeo appearing with a mac and brolly in new adverts for designer Burberry.

Romeo — whose dad has modelled undies for Armani — was snapped by top photographer Mario Testino. Creative boss Christopher Bailey said: "He stole the show."

Meanwhile Victoria appears to be trying to influence daughter little Harper Beckham by bringing her along to her shows at New York Fashion Week.
