Airdrie will include new signing Liam Buchanan in their ranks for the first time against visitors Falkirk

Buchanan has agreed a short-term deal until January following his release from Sligo Rovers.

The 27-year-old former Partick Thistle and Dunfermline striker looks set for a first start in a Diamonds jersey as both Jack and John Boyle are suspended.

Boss Jimmy Boyle is also without injured duo Cammy MacDonald and Sean Lynch.

Boyle said: "This would be a terrific game for us to win as it would put us back above Falkirk in the table.

"Liam will be involved and we will need to be at our best to win as they are coming here full of confidence after winning their last two games in a row."

David Weatherston is the only doubt for Falkirk as the former Queen of the South striker struggling with a knee injury.

Steven Pressley's side are looking to build on wins against Hamilton and Stenhousemuir to get their season up and running.

Technical director Alex Smith said: "Our youngsters have shown that they know how to win games now. They have done it in different ways as well by coming back from a goal down to beat Hamilton and then scoring early and seeing the game out at Stenhousemuir.

"Hopefully we can build on the momentum we have started with another win but it will not be east as Airdrie are a really hard working side."
