The Italy international has expressed his wish to stay with the Serie A giants beyond the end of the season and noted that the Rossoneri are amongst Europe's finest sides
AC Milan loanee Alberto Aquilani has said that he is eager to earn a permanent move to San Siro.
The 27-year-old signed a one-year loan deal with the Serie A champions in the summer after failing to impose himself at Liverpool, where he arrived in 2009 in a high-priced move from Roma.
Aquilani's agent admitted on Wednesday that the midfielder would automatically join Milan on a permanent basis as soon as he made three more appearances for the club due to a clause in the player's loan contract.
"Putting on Milan's shirt forces you to win," Aquilani told Milan Channel. "Milan are at the top in Italy and Europe and you realise that right after you enter Milanello [training ground] .
"I hope I can stay at the club after this season, but I am not sure that this will happen.
"I saw that there was an opportunity to join Milan last summer and in the end my hopes were rewarded."
Aquilani, a product of Roma's youth ranks, has so far made 22 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri.
