Villas-Boas confirms interest in Hulk

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has again indicated his desire to lure Porto forward Hulk to Stamford Bridge, saying the Brazil international 'fits the profile' of the player he is looking for.

Villas-Boas worked with Hulk at Porto last season, as the duo helped the Portuguese side to an emphatic league, domestic cup and Europa League treble.

The 34-year-old declared his admiration for the Brazil international on Portuguese radio earlier this week, and reiterated his desire to link up with the player again earlier today.

Villas-Boas said: "[Hulk] fits the profile - his technical characteristics and tactical. Adaptation to the Premier League is extremely different and only the best ones can have the direct impact.

"It could be Hulk, could be other extremely interesting players that are around. Right wingers and left wingers [are what we are looking for]."

Villas-Boas’ openness about recruiting new wide players has increased speculation over the futures of Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda.

Both players have seen their first-team opportunities limited this season but the Portuguese believes the pair could remain at Stamford Bridge.

"Kalou is finishing his contract [at the end of the season] - we haven’t decided on further continuity," he added.

"Malouda, we have been speaking to him. There is interest of both to continue with his future. For the player that he was, of high quality and a good servant, for the match minutes he has at the moment is something we have to talk at the end of the season."
