Her brother stepped in to vouch for his sister's purity.

He added: "She's never had a boyfriend. I swear on my mother's grave. She's a devout Catholic and prays every night."

Raffaella, from Cercola, near Naples, even refused to rule out a TV programme charting her first experience of sex.

The Vatican were among the strongest opponents of Raffaella's money-making scheme. Critics branded the idea "extremely high-priced prostitution" and claimed a potential TV show would be "a new low for Italian television".

It was claimed the pair were smitten, but months after they started dating, Ronaldo revealed he had become a father after an alleged fling with a mystery woman and would have full custody of the baby, also called Cristiano.

Ladbrokes even offered odds of 2-1 that Raffaella was the baby's MUM.

But by this point she had been dumped in favour of Ronaldo's current girlfriend, Russian model Irina Shayk.
