Vietnam thrashes Macau 7-1 in WCup qualifier

HONG KONG (AP)—Le Cong Vinh improved on his first-leg hat trick to lead Vietnam to a 7-1 rout of Macau, helping his country complete a two-game sweep in the first round of Asian World Cup qualifying Sunday.
Le scored three times in Vietnam’s first-leg 6-0 victory on Wednesday in Ho Chi Minh City. He matched that performance in the first half at Macau’s National Stadium, then added two more in the second half. Nguyen Quang Hai also scored in the 24th minute and Huynh Quang Thanh added another in the 86th.
