Former Manchester United flop Marouane Fellaini has dropped his iconic afro in a recent Instagram snap in favour of some cornrows.

Fellaini took to Instagram to share a snap with his brother, where he showed off the haircut with blonde highlights. The Belgian star captioned the post: "Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero."

The former United man also shared a second snap with the same hairstyle on the way into the restaurant - this time he posed by himself. Cornrows are nothing new for the footballer - and he previously sported the hairstyle, minus the highlights, last October.

Of course, when on British shores, Fellaini is best remembered for his iconic bushy afro that he rocked at Everton and at Old Trafford.

Fellaini first moved to the Premier League when he joined the Toffees from Standard Liege in 2008, where he remained for five years. However, he shot to superstardom after linking back up with David Moyes at United in 2013.

The Belgian midfielder went on to make over 100 appearances for the Red Devils before he left in 2019.

Fellaini is still playing professional football in the Far East for Chinese Super League side Shandong Taishan. The Belgian is one of the top earners in China, taking home a reported £205,000-per-week.

He made 23 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, scoring an impressive 10 goals as Taishan won the Chinese Super League title. He'll be hoping to back up that success when the new campaign gets underway this weekend.

Taishan and Fellaini open up the season with a visit from Hangzhou Greeentown before travelling to Henan Jianye for the second game of the new campaign next week.
