Seven-time world champion Hamilton finished sixth for F1's first visit the brand new Florida venue, as last season's title nemesis Max Verstappen pipped Charles Leclerc to the chequered flag.

But the Brit was still the main attraction trackside as the great and good of the sporting world fell over themselves to have their picture taken with him.

And they don't come much bigger that NFL legend Brady, NBA Hall of Famer Jordan and former England football captain Beckham, who all posed for one snap.

Hamilton was even snapped hugging former First Lady Michelle Obama as she paid a visit to the Mercedes garage.

Beckham on the other hand headed to Red Bull, where he met Max Verstappen, Checo Perez, Christian Horner and wife Geri, a former Spice Girls bandmate of wife Victoria.

The endless stream of celebs in Miami was never more evident than on Martin Brundle's pre-race grid walk on Sky Sports.

And viewers were left in hysterics by the former driver's struggles identifying all the famous faces.

In the minutes before the race, Brundle interviewd the likes of musicians DJ Khalid, Pharrell Williams and tennis legend Venus Williams.

But he failed to recognise ex-basketball icon Dwayne Wade.

And the most awkward moment of all came when he mistook NBA star Paolo Banchero for NFL superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes - with the embarrassed basketball player having to correct him.

The Miami GP was always going to bring out a host of celebs given its location.

And Hamilton lived up to the race's billing with the attire he chose to wear for his arrival as he walked in with a full pink outfit.

The Brit has struggled in his Mercedes car so far this season as he currently languishes down in seventh in the drivers' standings.

Meanwhile, his teammate George Russell suffered an incredibly difficult qualifying session as the porpoising continued to affect the speed of the Silver Arrows.

After the session, Mercedes chief Toto Wolff said: " I think we have seen a performance car yesterday in FP2 that was real, we were able to put it in a sweet spot.

"Today in FP3 we were completely off with the experiments that we did.

"The car is still bouncing like a kangaroo and the drivers are not happy with it and you can see that is the reason we are off.

"We definitely have a better handle [on what does and doesn’t work]. Also the slump that we had from yesterday and today helped."
