Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come under huge pressure in recent weeks after a series of humiliating losses including to Liverpool and Manchester City at Old Trafford

A collection of Manchester United players and members of staff at the club believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the verge of being sacked, reports suggest.

The Red Devils coach has had a troublesome time recently as form has plummeted in the Premier League.

The latest humiliation came at Old Trafford against their local rivals on Saturday when Manchester City rocked up and inflicted a 2-0 defeat on United.

The last match at home ended even worse when Liverpool thrashed them 5-0 - with many believing Solskjaer's reign would have come to an end there and then.

But the Norwegian has survived those calls only for them to be ramped up this week.

And many believe within the club that he will not pull through this period after some shocking form in all competitions, reports The Sun.

In the Premier League, United have earned just four points from a potential 18 - which stinks of relegation form rather than a team that has spent over £100million in the summer.

Only the heroics of Cristiano Ronaldo have saved Solskjaer in Europe with last-minute goals against Villarreal and Atalanta - on two occasions.

United are already out of the Carabao Cup while any hope of winning the league already looks over and done with.

Out of the last 12 games for the Red Devils, they have lost six - including their embarrassing defeats to their biggest rivals City and Liverpool.

According to The Sun, players and staff members at the club believe that Solskjaer's time is up and it is a matter of when not if he will be sacked.

Who could replace the 48-year-old remains to be seen with some reports that Ralf Rangnick could arrive as an interim until the end of the season.

Brendan Rodgers is well-admired by those in the Old Trafford boardroom while Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag have also been mentioned.
