Pro FIFA 20 players had to decide a tournament qualifier by playing 'Rock, paper, scissors' against one another - because of the quality of EA's servers.
Shaun Galea took to Twitter and explained that he and his opponent couldn't find each other to play in the FIFA Ultimate Team Champions Cup Weekend League qualifiers on Saturday.
As a result, qualification was decided over a few rounds of 'Rock, paper, scissors' which Galea lost.
I cannot believe it !! @EASPORTSFIFA @EAFIFADirect We literally had to play a rock paper scissors becauce we couldn’t find each other to invite in an EA LICENSED QUALIFIER . WTF !! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I am done

Opponent Hasan Eker tweeted his delight at prevailing in the rather unorthodox contest.

EA's servers are notorious for their issues and they released a statement on Saturday reading:
"We are actively investigating the connectivity issues players are currently experiencing. Match creation has been temporarily disabled to prevent disconnects. We'll update this thread with more info when we can."
It's like when you hit rock bottom and you say to yourself the only way from here is up. Well not at EA

FIFA 20 has been blighted by issues since launching in September and fans have been vocal.
#FixCareerMode trended on launch due to the poor quality of the single player mode which included numerous spelling mistakes and game breaking bugs.
Despite frequent patches since launch, many fans think the game is a step backwards for the franchise.
This is ludacris. If the pro scene does not take a stand right now... when will they. Not sure how they agreed to something like this in the first place.

A vocal group of fans even protested outside EA's headquarters in Bucharest late last year to campaign against the game.
A Reddit user shared the story online as a small number of players took issue with pack luck in the popular Ultimate Team mode, button delay and scripting.
