Alexis Sanchez is set to return to Manchester United this summer with Inter Milan unhappy with the Chilean's performances.

Sanchez had struggled at Old Trafford and was heavily linked with a move away during last summer, eventually heading to the San Siro on a season-long loan.

Many expected that to be the end of the former Arsenal star's career at Manchester United, however we could now return,

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Inter are not interested in a permanent deal unless Sanchez's performances improve.

The 31-year-old has struggled with injury though is now back to full fitness for the Serie A giants.

Sanchez has made 13 appearances for Antonio Conte's side in all competitions though has not scored since September.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently insisted that Sanchez will prove his doubters wrong when he returns to Old Trafford.

The Norwegian said last month: "Alexis will come back in the summer and prove you all wrong."

Though Chilean football legend Ivan Zamorano has called for Sanchez to not return to Manchester United.

"He has a contract with Manchester United but we will see where he wants to continue and feels happy," he told Chilean radio station Radio Cooperativa.

"I would like [him] to stay in Milan, in June he would have the opportunity to play with another Chilean, who will most likely come to this club.

"I am optimistic about the possibility to see two Chileans at Inter."

Sanchez could feature for Inter as they host Ludogorets on Thursday in the second leg of their last-32 Europa League clash.

The Milan side welcome the Bulgarian outfit having won the first leg 2-0 thanks to goals from former Premier League stars Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku.
