Woods strike enough as Dover beat Ebbsfleet

Michael Woods scored his first goal for Dover to hand the visitors a 1-0 win at Ebbsfleet in the National League.
Dover saw more of the ball in the early stages and were rewarded in the 14th minute as Woods fired home from the edge of the box after Ebbsfleet failed to clear their lines following a Jai Reason delivery.
The home side grew into the game as the half wore on and Tyler Cordner went close with a header from a corner but it was Dover who led at the break.
Ebbsfleet continued to look confident in the second half and Gozie Ugwu should have done better when one on one with Yusuf Mersin before Frankie Sutherland missed a good chance after Andre Blackman’s cross.
Ugwu was thwarted again by Mersin in the closing stages as Fleet stayed on the front foot but Dover held on for the Kent derby bragging rights.
