Aldershot and Barnet play out goalless draw

Barnet saw a run of three successive Vanarama National League wins ended by a spirited Aldershot as the pair played out a goalless stalemate at the EBB Stadium.
The Bees had beaten Ebbsfleet, AFC Fylde and Maidenhead over the course of December but were unable to cut the gap of the play-off places after being held in Hampshire.
Jack Taylor came close early on for the visitors, who also saw a Simeon Akinola header well saved by Mitch Walker in the Barnet goal.
Aldershot held firm as Barnet pushed for a winner and moved up a place to 19th as a result.
