Manchester United players and staff expect Paul Pogba to leave the club.

Manchester United players and staff are convinced Paul Pogba has played his last game for the club. The France international has not pulled on a United shirt since September 30. The midfielder was originally sidelined with a foot injury. However, Pogba is now out with a mystery illness.

Pogba revealed in the summer he’s ready to leave Old Trafford in search of a new challenge elsewhere.

And according to the Daily Mirror, United players and officials feel Pogba will quit Old Trafford.

They feel the Frenchman will never pull on a United shirt again, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting he will stay at the club.

When asked about Pogba this week, Solskjaer said: "Of all things Paul’s struck down ill now.

"He's been off for two or three days — three days probably — so that's not beneficial.

"That's probably set him back quite a bit. As I've said so many times, Paul's a top top player that we want to see playing his best football at Man United.

"We just need to get him fit and match fit. It might be half an hour, 45, 60, 90 — who knows, the first game.

"We're working hard to get him back but now he's ill.

"We can talk about Paul all day long and it's games like the one against Everton [1-1 draw] for example when you're lacking that one creative pass or ideas maybe.

"He has that quality that not many midfielders in the world have so to get him back would be great."

United are expected to be busy in the January transfer window and the sale of Pogba would give them extra funds.

The Red Devils are eyeing Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho in the new year.

However, United have been warned by Dimitar Berbatov over the transfer of Haaland.

The former Red Devils striker believes Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford must be prioritised at Old Trafford by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"[Haaland] is good and he is still young,” said Berbatov.

"He is developing and maybe he can get better.

"But I’ve said many times before that Martial and Rashford are, for me, the two main strikers that Manchester United need to keep. I love them.

"I played with Martial in Monaco, I know how good he can be. Now he is in the place he can develop and become a world star.

"Everyone knows how good Rashford can be as well. He is still 22, something like that, so he still has a long way to go and he can become even better.

"So, for me, they need to stick with these two players.”

United face Watford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick off).

A win for the Red Devils could send them up to fifth in the Premier League.
