Takefusa Kubo believes that Barcelona fans had the right to jeer him during Real Mallorca's trip to the Camp Nou.
The Japanese youngster has spent time in the Barcelona academy but is now on the books at Real Madrid.
"It's the fans' decision [to whistle me]," Kubo told Movistar.
"I took my decision and they have the right to whistle me, I think I deserve it, even though some fans were applauding and giving me support.
"Is it a shame? No, they have to see me as an opponent, not as a 18-year-old boy who plays football quite well."
Kubo played the full match during Mallorca's 5-2 defeat and showed glimpses of quality on the ball, drawing fouls from Barcelona players. He even did a nutmeg on Lionel Messi.
"Luckily I played 90 minutes and I did everything I could, but it wasn't enough to get a result," Kubo said.
