Rampant Hartlepool hit Chesterfield for five

Gus Mafuta and Gime Toure both scored twice as Hartlepool claimed a crushing 5-1 win at Chesterfield.
The visitors started well, and after Luke James had fired wide, they took the lead in the 23rd minute when Peter Kioso’s cross was slid home by midfielder Mafuta.
Pools doubled their lead four minutes later after a superb pass from Josh Hawkes set James racing clear and he drove the ball past the goalkeeper.
Scott Boden and Joe Rowley both fired wide as Chesterfield looked to respond before the break, and they did get one back on the stroke of half-time when Tom Denton’s header was put into his own net by Kioso.
Hartlepool restored their two-goal cushion early in the second half through Toure’s thumping drive after more good work from Hawkes.
The rampant visitors made it four when Toure stole the ball down the right and crossed for Mafuta to tap in and Toure tucked home a fifth from a James cross 12 minutes later.
Kioso left the field on a stretcher following a head knock late on as Hartlepool comfortably out 10 minutes of stoppage time.
