Jonson Clarke-Harris’ early goal was enough to earn Bristol Rovers a 1-0 FA Cup first-round replay win against Bromley at Hayes Lane.
Harris’ goal came after just three minutes as Ollie Clarke’s low cross was misjudged by the Bromley defence and Harris bundled the ball past Ryan Huddart.
Bromley had a number of good opportunities from set pieces in quick succession after 15 minutes but they were unable to convert.
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild almost found the equaliser in the 27th minute as he raced down the right and cut inside but his shot was cleared over the bar.
National League side Bromley continued to press before half-time and Michael Cheek’s goal was disallowed moments before the break for a marginal offside.
Hackett-Fairchild had a good chance just after half-time as he ran on to a direct ball over the top of Rovers’ defence but shot well over the bar.
Bromley had the ball in the net again in the 74th minute but the goal was disallowed as Cheek’s long throw did not get a touch before it went in.
Rovers held on in the closing stages despite Bromley pressing for the equaliser, with their reward a second-round match at home to Plymouth.
