Early blast enough for Eastleigh

Three goals in 11 first-half minutes were enough for Eastleigh as they held on to beat Torquay 3-2.
After a lively start, the home side were awarded a penalty after 23 minutes when Jake Andrews was adjudged to have handled in the area and Scott Rendell stepped up to score.
Eastleigh made it two six minutes later through skipper Danny Hollands’ fine strike from the edge of the area, and after Reda Johnson had gone off injured, Eastleigh added a third as Joe Partington’s hopeful effort deflected in.
The shell-shocked Gulls hauled themselves right back into the game in the early stages of the second half, with Ruairi Keating heading in from an Alex Wynter cross after 46 minutes and Andrews rifling in a second three minutes later.
Joe Lewis was denied an equaliser by goalkeeper Max Stryjek, who tipped over his effort, while Rendell could have wrapped up the points late on for Eastleigh.
