Morton climbed out of the Scottish Championship relegation play-off place with a 1-0 win over Arbroath at Cappielow.
Reece Lyon scored the only goal of the game as the home side ended a three-match losing streak.
Morton went ahead after just three minutes when Lyon converted from six yards.
Lyon fired a free-kick wide and Chris Millar failed to convert Bob McHugh’s cross, while at the other end James Murphy’s effort two minutes before half-time was as close as Arbroath came in the opening period.
Colin Hamilton fired a shot wide for the visitors after the break and Steven Doris had an effort blocked by Peter Grant, while Morton thought they should have had a chance to make the game safe when Jim McAlister’s appeals for a penalty were turned down.
