Manchester United have made a decision on whether to sign Mario Mandzukic in January.

Express Sport understands Manchester United are looking to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.

Juventus’ Mandzukic is an option for the Red Devils, with the Croatia international out of favour under Maurizio Sarri.

However, according to ESPN, United have cooled their interest in Mandzukic.

They say United consider a January move for the striker unlikely.

The Red Devils have been put off by Maduzukic’s wage demands and his refusal to accept a short-term deal.

Mandzukic, 33, is still a possible target for United. However, he is not a priority.

ESPN add that United will not panic buy in January to solve their problems.

The Red Devils are instead looking to plan long term and are most likely to complete deals in January.

United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds are flying this season, with Jurgen Klopp’s men boasting a 100 per cent record in the Premier League.

And Solskjaer, who has watched his United side struggle this time out, says the Red Devils must take more risks.

“To start winning games, we need to start scoring goals, we need to create more chances. At the back we've looked solid but we haven't been adventurous enough, taking enough risks,” he said.

“If you watch the best teams they take more risks with the ball, they make more runs in behind and that’s part of the process for the boys.

“When they’re losing confidence maybe they want to play it a bit more safe.

“But it's not safety that does it here - at this club you do take risks."

A win for United on Sunday could send Solskjaer's men up to seventh in the Premier League.
