Lionel Messi pleads
Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
It’s claimed Messi personally contacted his Argentine compatriot to convince him to join the Catalan giants.
Martinez, 22, scored nine times in 35 appearances for Inter during the 2018-19 season - and has already notched three goals in the current campaign.
Reports in Spain suggest Messi phoned Martinez to discuss a move to Barcelona in the January transfer window.
Christian Eriksen latest
Christian Eriksen is desperate to leave Tottenham.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Eriksen is actively trying to secure a deal to leave north London in January.
The Denmark international has no interest in signing a new contract with Spurs and the club will be forced to sell or risk losing him for free next summer.
It’s claimed Real Madrid will act quickly to avoid missing out - and could offer a fee between £17-£22million.
United’s first signing
Mario Mandzukic’s move to Manchester United is “pretty much signed and sealed”, according to Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.
Mandzukic has emerged as a serious transfer target for United in the upcoming January window.
“I think it happens and I think it’s pretty much signed and sealed as well,” Nicol told ESPN FC. “So yeah I don’t think there’s any question this is a hit.
“It’s something that United need but let’s be honest, it’s going against all the nonsense they gave us at the start of the season about youth - yeah right. Mandzukic, an old campaigner, experienced. He will come in for a short period of time and do a good job.”
Wanted: Kacper Kozlowski
Manchester United are tracking Polish teenager Kacper Kozlowski.
That’s according to Goal, who claim United have the talented 15-year-old midfielder in their sights to bolster their academy ranks.
Kozlowski, who has played for Pogon Szczecin’s senior side, has also attracted interest from Italy, Germany and France.
The report claims Old Trafford scouts were dispatched to watch him in action during Poland’s Under-17 clash with England - a fixture he scored in.
Kai Havertz to Barcelona
Barcelona are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.
Havertz, 20, scored an incredible 20 goals in 42 appearances last campaign with a further seven assists to boot.
His exploits have earned him six international appearances for Germany and plenty of interest from a number of European heavyweights.
German newspaper Sport Bild claim Barcelona didn’t bother sending scouts to watch him in action against Argentina on Wednesday because they’ve decided he’s good enough already.
Berbatov slams United
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn’t be capable of resurrecting Manchester United’s season.
That’s according to Dimitar Berbatov.
“The winter transfer window is going to be difficult and on the pitch Manchester United aren't producing as a team at the moment,” Berbatov told Betfair .
“It doesn't matter how good you are, Messi or Ronaldo could go there and they would have difficulty because the team is not producing.”
