Many claimed he turned up for Real duty overweight.

And he was most recently slammed for his disappointing showing in the Madrid derby at Atletico which ended goalless on Saturday night.

Real fans are notorious for being hard on their players - famously booing Cristiano Ronaldo despite his record-breaking spell with Los Blancos.

And after Hazard's latest showing, fans took to Twitter to mock the Belgian with a series of hilarious memes.

Fans have dug up a video of the 28-year-old twerking at the end of his Chelsea career and claimed it's the best thing he has done all summer.

Despite the star's slow start, Hazard's Belgium, Real and former Chelsea team-mate Thibaut Courtois - who has also come in for his fair share of stick - leapt to his defence.

He said: "He has to find his rhythm. He went 4 or 5 weeks without playing and without training much.

"He’s come in during a spell of a lot of matches and will gradually improve. He will continue to grow as the team is doing."

Hazard recently bagged a place in the World XI at the FIFA Best awards.

But this did not affect his status at Chelsea whose fans unfurled a huge banner in homage to the star despite the fact he left more than three months ago.

Ex-Chelsea boss Glenn Hoddle also recently claimed Hazard has joined Real at the wrong time.
