Arsenal fans call for Unai Emery to be sacked after Watford shambles as Paul Merson blames under-fire boss for horror show

ARSENAL fans have called for boss Unai Emery to be sacked after a horror show against Watford.

The Gunners threw away a two goal lead at Vicarage Road, and were hugely lucky to come away with a point in the 2-2 draw.

Watford had 31 shots at goal compared to Arsenal's seven as Quique Sanchez Flores bagged a point in his first game back as Hornets boss.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's first-half double was in vain as Tom Cleverley and substitute Roberto Pereyra secured a well deserved point for the hosts.

Arsenal legend Paul Merson laid the blame squarely at the feet of Emery, blaming his substitutions for ruining the momentum.

And Gunners fans seemed to agree and called for the Spaniard's head.

PLAYERS DID THEIR OWN THING

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Have we sacked Emery yet," while another added: "Emery should be sacked."

Robin Stanford wrote: "Don't think you'll see one arsenal fan upset when Emery gets sacked. Says a lot."

Another Gooner labelled Emery "a bum" and thinks he "should have been sacked" after the Europa League final.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson seemed to agree where the problem lies.

He wrote: "I've got to put it on the manager. People will say there were experienced players on the pitch, but he's the manager and they're paid to listen to him.

"You can't have a manager give instructions on how to play and then they go out and do their own thing.

"There would be mutiny, so they're listening to him and he's not getting it right.

"The shackles came off and Watford felt like they had nothing to lose, but the manager got it horribly wrong.

"I couldn't believe he brought Ozil off. Who else is going to open up a team bar him?"

I knew emery was a bum from the start, but I decided to give him a chance to see what he’s really up to. I gave up on him after the EL final, and I think he should’ve been sacked right there and then

I have been backing Emery till now too but it's slowly starting to change. Imo, he shld be sacked if he doesn't get top 4 this season since it's still early days now when half our defence is out injured
