Burton to assess injuries ahead of Coventry clash

Burton have a handful of injury concerns ahead of their home game against Coventry.
Liam Boyce (hamstring), Colin Daniel (hamstring), Jake Buxton (ribs), Nathan Broadhead (hip) and Richard Nartey (hamstring) have all been in the treatment room during the international break – Albion’s game at Sunderland was postponed due to the Black Cats’ number of call-ups.
Brewers boss Nigel Clough expressed his “surprise” at Boyce being on the bench for Northern Ireland’s European Championship qualifier against Germany on Monday so he is optimistic the striker could be fit.
Broadhead has been unable to train and it looks likely the on-loan Everton midfielder will miss out.
Coventry also have injury problems as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the League One campaign.
Michael Rose had to go off with a groin strain late on in the home win over Blackpool and the defender is a doubt.
Jamie Allen was hoping he might be able to make his Sky Blues debut against his former club but he has suffered a setback in his recovery. The midfielder joined Coventry from Burton in the summer but has yet to play for Mark Robins’ side after suffering a groin muscle tear in pre-season.
Allen was stepping up his fitness in the Under-23s against Hull this week but felt some discomfort after only seven minutes and was withdrawn. His replacement Dan Bartlett then suffered a knee injury and he looks set for a lengthy spell out.
