Fleetwood Town vs Oxford United - Dunne set for Fleetwood debut against Oxford
Posted Friday, September 06, 2019 by PA
Fleetwood’s new signing Jimmy Dunne is poised to make his debut for the club against Oxford.
Defender Dunne, a deadline-day arrival from Burnley, could start as Stoke loanee Harry Souttar is on international duty with Australia.
Midfielder Harrison Biggins is suspended following his straight red card in the midweek EFL Trophy defeat at Accrington, so Kyle Dempsey could make his first league start of the season.
Defender Wes Burns was forced off with an early knock against Accrington but will be in contention.
Oxford manager Karl Robinson will be without striker Matty Taylor for the trip.
Taylor has not featured since the defeat at Bristol Rovers on August 24 due to a groin injury.
Robinson hopes Taylor will return to training next week, although he will give his players some time off as they do not have a midweek fixture.
Mark Sykes and Ben Woodburn will miss Saturday’s game as they are on international duty with Northern Ireland and Wales respectively.
