Taylor to return for Oxford as they take on Tranmere

Oxford will be boosted by the return of Matty Taylor as they host Tranmere and bid to end their five-game winless run.

The striker is fit to rejoin the squad this weekend after suffering a groin injury.

U’s boss Karl Robinson will be without midfielder Jamie Hanson, however, who picked up a hamstring injury during the side’s 2-1 defeat to Fleetwood.

Moroccan winger Oussama Zamouri joined the club earlier this month and could be in line for his debut. Young striker Kyran Lofthouse recently made his first senior appearance during a Leasing.com Trophy clash and could feature again.

Micky Mellon’s Tranmere could introduce Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson into the squad, having signed him earlier in the month and named him as a substitute during Rovers’ 2-2 draw with Gillingham.

Winger Corey Blackett-Taylor is unavailable as he continues to serve a suspension following his dismissal at Bristol Rovers.

Mellon’s lengthy injury list includes Kane Wilson, Morgan Ferrier and Mark Ellis, who all have knee injuries.

Jake Caprice (ankle), Evan Grumbs (ACL) and Ishmael Miller (hamstring) are also sidelined.
