Blackpool defender Heneghan in line for first league start of season

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has revealed defender Ben Heneghan could be handed a first league start of the season against MK Dons.

The 25-year-old Sheffield United loanee has made two substitute appearances for the Seasiders but is set to come in to shore up a defence that threw away a two-goal lead in defeat at Coventry last weekend.

Forward Nathan Delfouneso has been ruled out for the next few matches after suffering a fresh hamstring injury on his return to the side against Coventry.

Winger Sullay Kaikai is set to keep his place after scoring twice last time out.

MK Dons defender Baily Cargill has been ruled out for up to four weeks with an ankle injury.

The centre-back missed last weekend’s victory over AFC Wimbledon after sustaining the problem against Stevenage and is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Callum Brittain has recovered from injury to bolster the defensive ranks and Regan Poole returns to contention after being unavailable last weekend as he captained Wales Under-21s against Belgium and Germany.

Striker Sam Nombe is likely to lead the line again after scoring on his first league start, while Ben Reeves, Jordan Moore-Taylor and Joe Mason remain sidelined.
