Rose could return for Grimsby’s Carabao Cup clash against Macclesfield

Grimsby hope to have forward Ahkeem Rose available for the rearranged Carabao Cup tie against Macclesfield.
Rose, just back from a hamstring injury, was not in the squad for Saturday’s League Two defeat by Crewe but is expected to be available.
Former Shrewsbury defender Luke Waterfall is cup tied, while midfielder Harry Clifton is away on international.
Defender Harry Davis, though, remains unavailable as he continues to recover from a dislocated shoulder.
Macclesfield head coach Daryl McMahon could look for different options in a bid to secure a bumper tie against Chelsea in the next round.
Recent signing Arthur Gnahoua could be in contention after again coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw against Crawley on Saturday.
On-loan Nottingham Forest forward Virgil Gomis is another option, having scored in last week’s Leasing.com Trophy victory over Newcastle Under-21s.
Midfielder Jak McCourt continues to be monitored, having not played since picking up an unspecified injury problem against Stevenage on August 31.
