Defender Wharton a doubt for Northampton

Scott Wharton remains a doubt for Northampton’s home clash with Plymouth.
The defender has undergone a scan after sustaining a knock against Swindon which ruled him out of last weekend’s trip to Colchester and the midweek Leasing.com Trophy clash with Arsenal Under-21s.
On-loan Blackburn goalkeeper Andrew Fisher started the trophy game following an injury to Steve Arnold, who faces up to seven weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring issue. Fisher will battle David Cornell for a starting spot.
Midfielder Alan McCormack is back in training after a hamstring injury but is still some way away from a return, while Joe Martin and Reece Hall-Johnson will also miss out.
Plymouth will have midfielder George Cooper in their squad for the trip after he joined on a season-long loan from Peterborough on Thursday.
In-form striker Ryan Taylor should be fit despite being taken off at half-time in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup defeat to Reading with an ankle knock.
Byron Moore is closing in on a return after a hamstring injury, but Joel Grant is unlikely to be involved as he battles a similar problem.
Forward Dom Telford makes it a trio of hamstring victims for Argyle and he could also miss out, while Joe Riley may stay sidelined with an arm injury.
