Warning on new Tottenham signing

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted new boy Giovani Lo Celso is going to take some time to settle in.

"I think Lo Celso is a situation that is not going to be easy," Pochettino said on Friday.

"He was in extended holidays after the Copa America, he didn’t have a proper pre-season and didn’t train too much, then signed for us after a week without training.

"He’s training well but is still so far away from what we expect from him. We need to give him time."

Lo Celso joined Tottenham on loan from Real Betis earlier this month and the north Londoners have the option to buy him.

Man Utd move talked up

Manchester United flop Wilfried Zaha only had warm words about life at Old Trafford when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was looking to move north.

"It started with [Zaha]," Wan-Bissaka said of his former Crystal Palace team-mate. "If you see him in training, he goes past players for fun, so when I played against him, a lot of people were shocked; firstly because I wasn’t a right-back, but also because they hadn’t seen anyone keep up with him before, so I kind of gave him that challenge, which helped both of us.

"It prepared me for the kind of player I’d be up against when I made my debut. I learnt a lot from him. I’m still in touch with a few people at the club.

"When I signed for United, Wilf gave me advice too. He told me: ‘When you come in, don’t go in your shell. You came here for a reason. Play without fear. Do what you did last season and keep consistent’. He was very positive about United."

Barcelona and Real Madrid get Neymar order

Barcelona and Real Madrid were this week handed an ultimatum over the future of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, claims Guillem Balague.

"Barcelona AND Real Madrid have been asked to put a final offer before midday [on Friday]. Juventus also in the equation," Balague tweeted.

"The latest twist: in the last few days the relationship between #Neymar, his father/representative and #PSG has improved dramatically (in a VERY positive way).

"Real willing to offer Bale (but he doesn't want to go) and Jovic, but PSG only want Vinicius (and Real don't want to let him go).

"Real saying they are not talking to PSG... But they are big time! Barcelona pushing hard as they feel Neymar getting away."

Gareth Bale decision

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has had a total change of heart with Gareth Bale now looking certain to stay at the Bernabeu.

"What has changed is that the player is going to stay, nothing else," Zidane said. "The important thing is that the player wants to stay, and we will count on him.

"He has shown he is a big player, and he must show again the player that he is. The other day he played a good game. But not just in what he is good at.

"He worked hard defensively. We have to stay on that path. Gareth, all of them. We know we need to improve, to achieve important things. And they all will."

Jurgen Klopp fumes over transfer window

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not too happy about the Premier League transfer window shutting three weeks earlier than those across Europe.

"I don’t care when it closes, but it must close at the same time. That was the idea in the first place," Klopp said.

"They spoke about finishing it before the season starts, good idea, but only England did it. That makes no sense. Can somebody explain what is the benefit for the Premier League?

"We don’t really have a problem but for other teams, their key players are still on the market and everything can happen.

"You want a team together and focused on the future, but that cannot happen when there is a door open.

"I don’t understand why this decision is not already reviewed at least. It was a good idea but it didn’t work out."
