Middlesbrough are waiting on the fitness of club captain George Friend ahead of the Sky Bet Championship clash against Millwall.
The defender sat out the midweek win over Wigan with a thigh problem and will be assessed.
Defenders Hayden Coulson (thigh) and Dael Fry (hamstring) also continue their recovery.
Forward Rudy Gestede, fit again following a hamstring problem, came on as a late substitute against Wigan, so could feature again, while 19-year-old goalkeeper Zach Hemming has moved to Hartlepool on loan.
Millwall will be without Czech winger Jiri Skalak for the trip to Teesside.
Skalak was forced off towards the end of the first half of the midweek 4-0 defeat at Fulham and is being assessed, with ankle ligament damage suspected.
Midfielder Jed Wallace is in the middle of a three-match suspension following his red card against Sheffield Wednesday.
Goalkeeper Frank Fielding continues his recovery from a quad operation.
