Luke Garbutt scores as Ipswich begin life in third tier with victory at Burton

Ipswich showed no signs of a relegation hangover as they ran out 1-0 winners over 10-man Burton in their first game in the third tier for 62 years.
There was no early season rustiness as both teams went full throttle for the whole 90 minutes.
It took just 11 minutes of the new season for Ipswich to open the scoring as Danny Rowe fed the ball to Everton loanee Luke Garbutt and his effort deflected off John-Joe O’Toole and landed in the bottom corner.
Garbutt could have made it 2-0 when his effort from the edge of the box was blocked by John Brayford.
Burton had their chances too but were guilty of a poor final ball and wasteful finishing.
Lucas Akins came closest for the Brewers but after rounding the goalkeeper in the area, he couldn’t keep his effort down.
Burton had Stephen Quinn sent off with 12 minutes to go after he picked up a second yellow card, having previously been booked in the first half for a tackle on James Norwood.
Ipswich had a member of their backroom staff sent off for kicking a cool box lid onto the pitch.
