Chorley take point on return to National League

Newly-promoted Chorley held Bromley to a goalless draw in their Vanarama National League opener.

There were few clear-cut chances to speak of in the first half but the game sprang into life after the break.

Second-half substitute George Porter saw his shot blocked in the area in the 54th minute as Bromley pushed for an opener.

The visitors went close again 10 minutes later when Chris Bush headed Frankie Raymond’s cross into the side-netting.

But the points were shared as neither team could make a breakthrough.
