Hudson-Odoi makes Chelsea number 10 request after Willian claim

Callum Hudson-Odoi's representatives have asked Chelsea for their client to be given the number 10 jersey vacated by Eden Hazard.

Willian claimed in Brazilian media this week that the club had offered him the number.

Speaking to Desimpedidos in Brazil, Willian said: "I was offered the number 10 jersey ahead of next season and I will take it."

Despite the claim, the Evening Standard says Hudson-Odoi's representatives have requested the number 10 jersey while in negotiations over a five-year contract extension.

"There's no confirmation on that decision," manager Frank Lampard said. "It will be taken in due course. Hopefully his return to training date will be early August."

Jurgen Klopp is hopeful injured Liverpool duo Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri will return to action after the club's training camp in France.

The Reds will head to Evian for a week-long training camp following this weekend's friendly with Napoli at Murrayfield.
