Madrid need to sell, sell, sell to get Pogba

Paul Pogba's proposed move from Manchester United to Real Madrid is reportedly being held up for two reasons.

Pogba seems certain to leave Old Trafford despite Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being keen to keep hold of him.

The French midfielder recently admitted he wants a new challenge after three years at Manchester United.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has also said that his client wants out with Real Madrid keen on the World Cup winner.

And Goal claim that United need to be willing to discuss terms for Pogba before a move is made.

It’s also reported that Real Madrid need to push through more sales before moving forward with a deal.

Manchester United are believed to have refused to even talk about an exit for Pogba.

But Madrid know they can’t fit Pogba into their squad until they get rid of more players.

Goal add that Real need to raise around £140m to pursue Pogba and keep within Financial Fair Play regulations.

Gareth Bale, Isco and James Rodriguez are among the candidates to depart.

Barcelona make Coutinho decision

Barcelona have decided Philippe Coutinho is done at the Nou Camp, according to Marca.

Coutinho has struggled since joining Barcelona 18 months ago and could now be used as part of the deal to see Neymar return.

Barca claim Barcelona have decided that Coutinho is no longer in the club’s plans and they are trying to sign Antoine Griezmann and Neymar.

Coutinho joined from Liverpool for £142 but they are unlikely to get their money back in any deal.

Everton want Nicolas Pepe

Ambitions plans at Goodison Park.

According to the Telegraph, Everton are looking to sign Lille star Nicolas Pepe.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international has been linked with Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United in the past few months.

But it’s Marco Silva’s side who could snap up his services for a club record fee of £58million.

Pepe isn’t the only left-footed attacker Everton are considering - Ajax’s David Neres, Lyon forward Bertrand Traore and Barcelona’s Malcom are also on the shortlist.

Bruno Fernandes boost

Manchester United have received a boost in their drawn-out pursuit of Bruno Fernandes after Sporting Lisbon identified a replacement for the midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in signing the Sporting captain, who has a release clause of £31.5million (€34m).

The Primeira Liga club are holding out for more than that fee but will have to pay the player £4.5m (€5m) in compensation as a result.

And in preparation of his departure, Sporting have identified a replacement for the 24-year-old.

According to Italian sports channel SportItalia, that player is believed to be Palmero playmaker Aleksandar Trajkovski.

Harry Maguire deal inevitable

Manchester United have been handed a major transfer boost in their pursuit if Leicester star Harry Maguire.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign a new centre-back and have already seen their opening £70million bid rejected by Leicester for England international Maguire.

The Foxes are demanding up to £90m for the 26-year-old this summer.

However, according to The Sun, Leicester chiefs privately accept Maguire will leave the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes are confident of making United cough up £85m, despite Maguire being desperate to join the Red Devils.

Real Madrid want Neymar

Real Madrid have reignited their pursuit of Neymar.

That’s the shock claim from Spanish newspaper Sport, who claim Zinedine Zidane’s side have opened talks with Neymar’s representatives.

Barcelona were considered the only destination for the Brazilian superstar, who wants to leave the Parc des Princes after two seasons.

But Sport claim Real Madrid are now firmly in the running.

Real president Florentino Perez failed on two occasions to sign Neymar - but Sport think he holds a significant advantage because PSG would rather sell to Los Blancos instead.

Antoine Griezmann release clause

Barcelona could have a deal in place to sign Antoine Griezmann this week.

Sport claim the Catalan giants plan to activate Griezmann’s release clause in the next two days.

Griezmann's buy-out clause dropped from £171million to £107m on July 1 and the player himself caused outrage when failing to report for pre-season last week.

Barcelona want Griezmann to join for Ernesto Valverde’s pre-season preparations and plan to ‘execute the operation between Thursday and Friday of this week’ claim Sport.
