Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Sean Longstaff signed this week at Manchester United
Longstaff deal demanded this week
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Manchester United to sign Sean Longstaff in a £25m deal this week.
Solskjaer is desperate to make the Newcastle midfielder his third summer signing.
He wants the deal to be completed in rapid time so Longstaff can join-up with the United squad ahead of leaving for their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East on July 8.
He has told executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to meet the Magpies' asking price of around £20m plus add-ons.
United have also opened talks with Sporting Lisbon about signing Bruno Fernandes and are considering joining the race to sign unsettled Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.
But Starsport understands Old Trafford bosses have made Longstaff their priority - and will press ahead with securing a deal in the coming days.
Keeper James Hillson could be signing for Arsenal
Goalkeeper drops Arsenal clue?
Arsenal are preparing to sign goalkeeper James Hillson as an understudy to Bernd Leno.
The 18-year-old joined the Gunners on loan from Reading towards the end of last season.
Hillson arrived in February, primarily to provide cover for the injured Under-18 team stopper Karl Hein.
He recently posted an Instagram story from Arsenal's London Colney training ground following his release from Reading.
The update appears to indicate that a permanent deal could transpire, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Fernandes' Man Utd contract ready?
Manchester United have already drawn up a contract for Bruno Fernandes, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.
He tweeted: "#ManchesterUnited have offered to #Sporting €35M for #BrunoFernandes. Contacts ongoing, but Sporting want more.
"For him is ready a contract by €6M at year plus bonuses. #transfers #MUFC #mutd.
"Sporting having to pay Bruno 5 million if a fee goes higher than 35 million.
"Meanwhile from tomorrow there is a clause that is just di 35M..."
Ivan Perisic is eager to join Manchester United
Perisic in, Lukaku out?
Inter Milan could offer Ivan Perisic to Manchester United as a makeweight in their Romelu Lukaku pursuit.
Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan are among the Inter stars that have reportedly been offered in exchange so far, and according to the Daily Mail, Perisic could be next.
The Croatian has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the past after impressing former boss Jose Mourinho.
The report claims Perisic is keen on a potential switch to Old Trafford.
Ben Yedder agrees to Man Utd move?
Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal with Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder.
According to Spanish outlet La Colina de Nervion, United have everything agreed with the Frenchman.
The report claims he is also being chased by Barcelona and PSG.
However, it's suggested his next destination will almost certainly be Old Trafford.
Sevilla are determined to hang on to their talisman and United are yet to submit an offer to the Spanish side.
Arsenal will have more talks over William Saliba this week
Saliba talks again this week?
Arsenal will speak with Saint-Etienne again within the next couple of days about their proposed deal for William Saliba.
Starsport understands a pursuit is ongoing with Arsenal in negotiations over a £20m move.
But with a deal not totally ironed out yet, Yahoo Sport France journalist Manu Lonjon says a meeting between the two clubs is scheduled for early this coming week.
As things stand, Lonjon says no fresh offer has been put forward by Arsenal.
North London rivals Tottenham are also tracking Saliba but are yet to make a formal bid at all.
Kante to United?
Manchester United must attempt to keep Paul Pogba at the club by signing Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante, according to former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.
The 26-year-old has had a turbulent three years at United on and off the pitch.
But Bosnich believes Pogba is the type of player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be building his team around.
However, he reckons he needs one of his France team-mates in Chelsea's Kante or Juventus' Blaise Matuidi alongside him in midfield.
"In terms of Pogba, and I feel very strongly about this, I would build the team around him," Bosnich told talkSPORT.
"I think what they've got to do is look at where Pogba has been most successful, at Juventus and at the World Cup, and who was playing with him?
"Well, at the World Cup it was N'Golo Kante and Blaise Matuidi. So if you're looking for players, either look to bring those two in with him, or players of that ilk to play alongside him and bring the very best out of him."
Kante at United to keep Pogba sweet?
Tierney to Arsenal close
Arsenal are closing in on their first signing of the summer in Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners had an initial £15m bid rejected but are set to return with a much improved offer.
According to today's Sunday Post, Arsenal will offer Celtic £20m up-front for Tierney, plus another £5m in add-ons.
The Scottish champions value the defender at £25m, so the likelihood is that a deal will be agreed.
Reports claim that the Scotland international has left Celtic's training camp in Austria and returned to the UK yesterday.

Longstaff eyeing Toon exit
Newcastle ace Sean Longstaff is considering his future following the shock exit of Rafa Benitez – and that's great news for Manchester United.
Sources close to the Newcastle midfielder, wanted by Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, confirm he is ‘bitterly upset' with the news that Benitez is leaving St James Park.
All of which is further encouragement for United in their pursuit of Longstaff, 21, who is currently recovering from knee ligament damage sustained in March.
Solskjaer views the Newcastle playmaker as another vital piece in the on-going overhaul of his United squad after being impressed with his breakthrough season in the Premier League.
Sadio Mane to leave for Real Madrid?
Mane swap offer
Real Madrid are prepared to offer Marco Asensio to Liverpool - but only if the Reds send Sadio Mane in the opposite direction.
According to the Express, Zinedine Zidane and co are willing to part with winger Asensio.
The 23-year-old Spain international made a total of 44 appearances last term, and was a regular for Los Blancos in one of their most disappointing season's in recent history.
However, they will also ask that the Reds send them Mane in exchange.
Zidane's scouts have reportedly been watching the Premier League Golden Boot joint-winner for a while, and were impressed by his efforts in Liverpool's successful Champions League campaign.
Will Palace buckle under the pressure of Zaha's demands?
Arsenal's Zaha hope
Arsenal are convinced Crystal Palace will accept less than £80m for Wilfried Zaha this summer.
The north London outfit failed to qualify after losing to Chelsea in the Europa League final but this has not put Zaha off.
And the Gunners believe Palace will be forced to accept a much lower valuation of the player because he wants to join them.
Any move for Zaha depends on Arsenal being able to sell players - but there is growing confidence they will be successful with a summer clear-out.
