Official: Barcelona sell Andre Gomes to Everton for 25 million euros

Everton have officially bought Andre Gomes from Barcelona for 25 million euros plus add-ons, following the Portuguese midfielder's successful loan spell at the Premier League side last season.

Having bought the 25-year-old from Valencia for 35m euros plus a further 20m euros in variables, there are many at the Camp Nou who are disappointed that Gomes was unable to succeed at the club, but nevertheless they thanked him in a statement.

"FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank Andre Gomes for his dedication and commitment, and wishes him the best of luck and success in the future," their statement read.

During his time with the Catalan giants, he played 78 games and won four trophies.
