Peterhead maintained their four-point lead at the top of Ladbrokes League Two with a 2-1 win over Elgin but were made to wait for the title as Clyde hammered Berwick.
Callum Wilson’s own goal gave Peterhead a second-minute lead and after Greg Morrison equalised, Jack Leitch restored the visitors’ advantage.
Elgin’s Ross MacIver missed a penalty just before half-time and the visitors closed out the win in the second half – but Clyde stayed in touch with a thumping 5-0 win.
Barry Cuddihy’s early goal put Clyde in front and Scott Rumsby and John Rankin made the result safe in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
David Goodwillie and Chris McStay added further gloss as Danny Lennon’s side kept their automatic promotion hopes alive.
Second-bottom Albion Rovers twice came from behind to beat play-offs bound Edinburgh City 3-2.
Blair Henderson gave the visitors an early lead but Smart Osadolor equalised in the ninth minute.
Craig Thomson put Edinburgh back in front two minutes into the second half but Gary Phillips got a second equaliser and Osadolor’s second sealed a victory which lifts Albion five points clear of bottom club Berwick.
Aidan Smith scored twice in 10 second-half minutes as Annan, also set for the play-offs, won 3-0 at Queen’s Park. Tommy Muir scored the third goal.
Cowdenbeath won 1-0 at Stirling, with David Cox on target just before the hour after Stirling had Jordan Allan sent off.
