Goals from Josh Coulson and Matt Harrold kept Leyton Orient on course for the Vanarama National League title with a 2-0 home win over promotion hopefuls Harrogate at Brisbane Road.
The victory maintained leaders Orient’s two-point lead over second-placed Salford as Harrogate stayed in sixth despite the defeat.
Orient went ahead with two minutes on the clock as Jobi McAnuff’s corner was met by centre-back Coulson’s glancing header.
Harrogate striker Jordan Thewliss missed a couple of chances in the first half and 15 minutes after the break saw his shot come back off the post after rounding Orient keeper Dean Brill.
With 18 minutes remaining, Harrogate goalkeeper James Belshaw kept his side in the game with a fine save from a shot by Marvin Ekpiteta, but three minutes into added time substitute Harrold rose highest from a corner to head home and seal his side’s victory.
