Braintree win battle of relegated sides

Braintree were 2-0 winners against Maidstone in an entertaining clash between two already-relegated Vanarama National League sides.

Braintree went ahead in the second minute when Mo Sagaf scored from the penalty spot.

The visitors almost doubled their advantage in the 60th minute when Cameron James hit a post from the edge of the area.

Josh Taylor came close for Maidstone in the 66th minute as he headed Jack Richards’ cross onto the bar.

But Braintree had the last word, with Korrey Henry making it 2-0 in the 85th minute.
