Sunderland boss Jack Ross has a number of injury concerns ahead of his side’s League One clash with Coventry.
Midfielder Dylan McGeouch will definitely be ruled out after picking up a muscle strain in the midweek draw against Burton.
Lee Cattermole is still a doubt with a foot injury sustained in the Checkatrade Trophy final defeat to Portsmouth, and Aiden McGeady is also likely to miss out again.
Striker Chris Maguire has returned to training following a fractured fibula and will be assessed but the weekend is likely to come too soon for him.
Conor Chaplin is pushing for a place in the Coventry starting line-up after his return from injury last week.
The Sky Blues striker made an appearance off the bench in the goalless draw with Bristol Rovers after a seven-week spell on the sidelines with an ankle problem.
Boss Mark Robins is definitely without Tom Bayliss and David Meyler who picked up injuries last week.
Meyler has undergone an operation on a dislocated shoulder, while Bayliss is also ruled out with a suspected bone break in his arm.
