Double boost for Gillingham ahead of Shrewsbury’s visit

Mark Byrne and Regan Charles-Cook should both be fit for Gillingham when they host Shrewsbury.
Byrne was forced off with a knock midway through the first half against Peterborough and his replacement Charles-Cook also left the field with an injury during the 2-0 defeat at the ABAX Stadium, following a collision with team-mate Barry Fuller.
Billy Bingham has been training for the past two weeks and it will not be long before he makes his return from a calf injury.
Fellow midfielder Callum Reilly (thigh) remains out while Gills captain Gabriel Zakuani (ankle) is a long-term absentee.
Shrewsbury will travel to Priestfield without Dave Edwards.
The midfielder has suffered an ankle injury in training and the club are waiting on the results of scans to determine the extent of the damage, with the fear being that the problem could end his season.
Goalkeeper Steve Arnold remains on the Shrews’ injury list after sustaining a hamstring strain in the defeat to Portsmouth and he is expected to miss another couple of weeks at least.
Only bottom-of-the-table Bradford have won fewer away points than Shrewsbury this season.
