Kirkpatrick grabs stoppage-time winner for Alloa against Queen of the South

Jordan Kirkpatrick scored a stoppage-time winner as Alloa climbed off the foot of the Scottish Championship standings after beating Queen of the South 2-1.

Kirkpatrick headed in the decisive goal in the third minute of time added on to see the Wasps climb to eighth.

Andy Graham had earlier opened the scoring for Alloa in the 18th minute from Iain Flannigan’s corner.

However, Kyle Jacobs levelled for Queen of the South in the 59th minute to send the visitors back to the bottom on goal difference to Falkirk, who have a game in hand.

But Kirkpatrick had the final word, with the win seeing the Wasps leapfrog both Falkirk and Partick Thistle, who drew and lost respectively.
