Spurs were heavily into a deal to land the Paris Saint-Germain star in a £20m move last month.

But before the transfer could be sealed, Rabiot's father Michel died a few days before the January window closed.

And the family decided to put business on hold as a mark of respect with his mother and agent, Veronique, declaring that nothing would be done until the summer.

That's when Rabiot, 23, becomes a free agent.

He has no future at PSG after being suspended because he refused to sign a new contract and the only way is out of Paris.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of the midfielder and would love to have some more options in North London.

But both Barcelona and Liverpool have already shown huge interest in the French international and Arsenal, too, would love to join the queue to grab Rabiot – who worked with boss Unai Emery in France.

And that leaves Tottenham, who haven't made any signings in the last two transfer windows, fearing another major signing will slip through their fingers in the summer.

In addition to Maurizio Sarri's outfit, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are watching the Brazilian star closely.

Richarlison, 21, has scored 10 times in 23 league outings for the Toffees.

And since winning his first senior cap with Brazil last September he has rattled in three in six appearances for his country.

Although he has struggled to maintain that prolific form with his club of late – he was dropped to the bench for the midweek defeat to Manchester City – that is not killing off the growing interest in his talents.

It leaves Everton bracing themselves for a fierce battle to retain the South American star – and they will demand double the £40m he cost them from Watford in July.

Whether he wants to stay or go may depend on what happens to under-fire Everton boss Marco Silva.

The Portuguese coach has been a huge influence on the player's career – but is in danger of the sack at Goodison Park after a terrible run of results.

That would be a big personal blow for Richarlison, who was a virtual unknown before then-Watford coach Silva brought him to England from Fluminense in July 2017 for just £11.2m.

After being appointed by Everton last summer, Silva immediately made it his priority to get Richarlison to follow him to Merseyside.
