Crawley Town vs Oldham Athletic AFC - Meite and Willock pushing for Crawley debuts
Posted Friday, February 08, 2019 by PA
Ibrahim Meite and Matty Willock are pushing for Crawley debuts in the Sky Bet League Two match with Oldham.
Forward Meite rejoined the Red Devils on a free transfer from Cardiff on February 1, while Manchester United loanee Willock was an unused substitute in last week’s 1-1 draw at Bury.
Crawley manager Gabriele Cioffi, however, has no fresh selection concerns and may name an unchanged starting XI.
Midfielder Mark Randall, who had not made a league appearance since October, had his contract terminated on Tuesday.
Oldham could hand debuts to loan signings Zak Dearnley, Oladapo Afolayan and Alex Iacovitti at Broadfield Stadium.
Forwards Dearnley and Afolayan joined from Manchester United and West Ham respectively on transfer deadline day, while defender Iacovitti arrived from Nottingham Forest on January 28.
Latics captain Peter Clarke is available again after serving a one-match ban for his red card in the FA Cup defeat at Doncaster.
Midfielder Jose Baxter and forward Chris O’Grady are among the players pushing for starts following defeat to MK Dons on January 29, but long-term absentees Dan Gardner (knee) and Ousmane Fane (leg) are not expected to return.
