BOURNEMOUTH will offer Welsh wonder David Brooks a huge pay rise to keep Manchester United and Tottenham at bay.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe wants to reward the exciting midfielder who has been a star since signing from Sheffield United in the summer.

United are drooling over former Manchester City youth Brooks and planning a move for him either in the summer or sooner if an auction starts.

The Old Trafford club have been doing their homework on the 21-year-old, who plays for former United legend Ryan Giggs at international level, and think he would fit in well.

Spurs are also long-term admirers of Brooks.

They tried to buy the youngster from the Blades but he ended up moving to the south coast instead.

The two giants would happily pay around £40million to take Brooks on.

However, Bournemouth want to keep him happy and hold on to one of their most prized assets as long as possible.

Brooks is on just over £1million-a-year at the Vitality Stadium and the Cherries are willing to more than double that to around £50,000 a week, just a few months after his arrival.

The signs are that Brooks will commit.

Bournemouth also want to tie down speedy Ryan Fraser on a new deal but he is another wanted man.

The Scottish international is the subject of growing interest from Everton and Southampton and could turn down fresh terms.

Everton may try to buy Fraser in this window with a bid of around £15million as he fits in well with boss Marco Silva’s attacking philosophy.

Saints are also watching developments but cannot match the financial muscle of the Merseysiders.

Fraser has just 18 months left in his deal so Bournemouth are in a dilemma if the money on offer is good.
