Nicky Adams grabbed a late winner for Bury as they edged out MK Dons 4-3 in a pulsating clash at Gigg Lane.
The Shakers roared back from 3-1 behind with 17 minutes to go level before grabbing an injury-time winner as Adams’ cross drifted into the far corner.
A dramatic start saw the Dons go in front after nine minutes when defender Jordan Moore-Taylor rose highest to head home Jordan Houghton’s corner-kick.
Three minutes later, Shakers midfielder Jay O’Shea saw his penalty kick superbly saved by Lee Nicholls after the midfielder had been brought down by Houghton.
O’Shea eventually evened it up in the 33rd minute when he atoned for earlier spot-kick miss by converting a second after Joe Walsh had bundled over Shakers shipper Neil Danns.
It was 2-1 to the Dons three minutes later when skipper Dean Lewington curled home from 20 yards after playing a neat one-two with Houghton at a free-kick.
After Chuks Aneke had seen his looping header come off the top of the crossbar, the Dons went 3-1 up in the 52nd minute when Bury defender Chris Stokes headed Lewington’s cross into his own net.
Dom Telford began the Bury fightback when he slotted home from a tight angle, then in the 77th minute Danny Mayor notched the sixth goal of a breath-taking game, drilling home from 15 yards after being teed up by sub Byron Moore.
That left Adams to hit a fortunate winner 22 seconds past the 90 minutes to give Bury a fourth-successive win.
