Woking vs Watford - Max Kretzschmar a doubt for Woking
Posted Saturday, January 05, 2019 by PA
Woking midfielder Max Kretzschmar is a major doubt for the FA Cup third round clash with Premier League Watford.
Kretzschmar suffered a recurrence of a hamstring problem in the New Year’s Day win at Hampton & Richmond.
Forward Greg Luer is expected to retain his starting place for the Vanarama National League South side after hitting a hat-trick in that match having come in for the rested Jake Hyde.
Cards manager Alan Dowson has no other selection issues, although Armani Little and Harvey Bradbury – signed on loan from Oxford on Friday – will not be involved.
Watford head coach Javi Gracia looks set to use the depth of his squad after admitting the FA Cup tie provides an ideal chance to give game time to some of his fringe players.
Only Sebastian Prodl, Christian Kabasele and Andre Gray are unavailable through injury.
Marvin Zeegelaar and Stefano Okaka will also not be considered as Gracia confirmed they are in negotiations over loan moves to Udinese.
That means the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah, Daryl Janmaat, Marc Navarro, Miguel Britos, Ben Wilmot, Adalberto Penaranda, Domingos Quina, Tom Cleverley, Heurelho Gomes and Pontus Dahlberg are all under consideration to start against Woking.
